Why choose us for your home renovation?
Knowing your wish list for your space is easy, but the real challenge is maximising its potential within the existing limitations. We bring the experience to assess what’s feasible based on the current layout, structure, and budget. With our expertise, we can anticipate the hurdles you’re likely to face and navigate any unexpected challenges that may arise. By involving us early, we can save you both time and money, helping you avoid a costly and complicated process.
Is it more cost-effective to extend your home for additional space or to completely remodel and redesign the interior?
It’s best to discuss this on-site so we can assess your current space and better understand what additional room you and your family need. Both options—extending outward or building upward—can work well, but the right choice depends on your land size and specific requirements.
For clients with limited land, we’ve successfully added a second storey, providing more space while maintaining the original look and style of the home. The result is a seamless design that feels like it was always part of the house.
How can I update my old home to meet today’s standards for warmth, and practical living?
Villas and bungalows are charming, but they often lack the warmth and functionality needed for modern living. If you’re planning to renovate your older home, we highly recommend upgrading the insulation in the walls, ceiling, and floor. It’s also important to ensure the wiring meets current standards, and to check the plumbing and drainage systems.
No need to worry—these assessments can be done and quoted before your plans go to council, giving you a clear understanding of the costs upfront so you can move forward with confidence.
Can I stay in my home when it is being renovated?
Whether you can stay in your home during a renovation depends on the type of project. We’ve had clients remain in their homes during smaller renovations, but for larger-scale work—especially involving the kitchen or bathroom—it’s often easier to move out. That said, we can stagger the renovation to complete essential areas like these more quickly, allowing you to move back in sooner. This approach requires clear and consistent communication to keep everything on track.
The same applies to extensions. We can build the extension while you continue living in the house, only needing to arrange for you to temporarily leave when it’s time to remove the connecting wall to ensure your safety.
All of this is carefully planned at the start of the project. We’ll coordinate the timeline and any temporary relocations in advance so everything runs smoothly, keeping your renovation process as stress-free as possible.
If I start the renovation, I worry that the building process will keep uncovering more problems that need rectifying, and the price will escalate too high to continue.
The key to avoiding unexpected costs is selecting a builder with extensive experience. With over 20 years of expertise in home renovations, we know exactly what to look for and how to provide accurate pricing for the work required. Before you begin drawing up plans, we’ll have a thorough discussion to identify potential costs upfront. This ensures you have a clear understanding of any pitfalls, minimising the risk of surprises and helping you stay within budget.
While there’s always potential for the unknown, depending on the size and scope of your renovation, we’ll also advise you on a contingency plan to keep aside, ensuring you’re prepared for any unexpected issues.
