This tasting room renovation began in January 2018, in collaboration with their architect from Wellington. With only four months to complete the project, the task was both exciting and challenging. The old warehouse, originally used as a barrel room, was to be transformed into a combined dining and wine-tasting experience.
One of the standout features was removing the existing stone cladding and replacing it with corten steel. However, the client had a unique request—no visible fixings. To achieve this seamless look, we engineered a custom tool that could fit behind the negative detail of the corten to access and secure the large steel structure in place.
Additionally, we completely refitted the interior, including a new kitchen and dining space, creating a welcoming and memorable experience for patrons.
