7 homeward bound renovation queenstown jmi

The Old Lodge (7 Homeward Bound) was an existing building when JMI took on the development, but our challenge was to transform it into a grand home for the client through a comprehensive renovation. Working with a tight 4-month timeline, we completely gutted the property, making extensive changes to suit the client’s vision. This included adding new bathrooms, removing load-bearing walls, and converting several sliding doors into windows to create additional bedrooms.

One of the most complex aspects of the renovation was dealing with discrepancies between the original plans and the existing structure. Connecting drains for the new showers proved especially tricky. We discovered missing drains and found concrete obstructing others that were crucial for the new layout. To overcome this, we cut out sections of the slab, reran the pipes beneath the foundation, and carefully restored and poured new trenches.

The result is a beautifully renovated home that reflects the dedication and craftsmanship poured into those four intense months, with softscaping now completed and ready for the new owners to enjoy.
